Gratitude GPT

Reflecting on gratitude has a positive impact on our health, mentally and physically. It’s a complicated practice. Not as simple as saying “Thank you,” or saying, “I’m glad I have food in the fridge,” though everyone needs to start somewhere.

I worry about Chat GPT and our reliance on outsourcing our communication. It’s become increasingly aware that our society struggles with clear and mindful communication. Clear in our work relationships, clear in our family and friend relationships. Even our pets notice how distracted we’ve become.

In honor of that worry, here is my human attempt at mocking the large-language-model’s attempt at reproducing a gratitude reflection:

Dear Friend

On this holy day of thanks

I send out words of levitation

It may have been too long since

Our paths have crossed

But that doesn’t mean our eyes

Must remain crossed

It is most definitely harder

To read with your eyes crossed (Try it!)

I submit these words of thanks
