NBA Season Ahead: Drama for Two of the NBA’s Best — the Warriors and Celtics
The June Finals were only a few months ago and here we are on the cusp of another NBA season. The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics were engaged in a tense six-game series then. As the season is about to tip, they’ve had to deal with tense situations off the court. Draymond Green and Jordan Poole were involved in an altercation at practice. Video of Green punching Poole in the head was leaked to TMZ. It went from a problem…to a PROBLEM. Draymond was asked to leave the team, but has since been welcomed back. He was fined, but will serve no team-imposed suspension. Celtics coach Ime Udoka was suspended for the season. More on that below.
The Golden State Warriors and Draymond
Draymond is a phenomenal defensive player and a brilliant fast-break catalyst and passer. He runs on rare fuel. Like Marcus Smart. Like Kevin Garnett did during his playing days. I read KG’s book. It was actually really good, alternately funny and wise, written in KG’s unique vernacular.
(Purely an outsider’s observation): KG could genuinely turn it on (on the court) and off. Not to say there were never harsh words in practice or threats, but with KG the love of teammates that busted it like he did…that love was pure. I think Draymond has that pure love for Steph…
