Nikola Jokic is a Magician Disguised as a Basketball Player

The Denver Nuggets are in the NBA Finals facing the Miami Heat (series tied 1–1) because of the NBA’s two-time MVP, and this year’s runner-up, Nikola Jokic. Like Clark Kent when he finds a phone booth and exits as Superman, Nikola Jokic (Yo-kitch) transforms into a magician when he slips on his baby blue (road) Nuggets uniform.

Passing

Nikola sees passes that others can’t and sees possibilities where others find limitations. At 6’11” Jokic literally sees over the heads of many defenders. He sees the forest of nine other humans while others see nine single human trees. Unlike many modern star athletes, Jokic seems to have a healthy relationship with his phone, refusing to use social media. The Serbian-American is not interested in growing his brand. He barely grows facial hair. It does make me wonder what would the Jokic brand would sell you? Perhaps X-ray specs? Horse ranch supplies (he loves horses)? Perhaps a MasterClass on Selflessness and Interpreting and predicting fluid movement? Jokic has been dubbed a passing savant, a passing genius, and the best passing big-man in NBA history.
