Today was the day
Finally got orange play-doh
In my coffee
Miss chief of mischief
Took the opportunity
While on the phone
Ordering wood and nails
And other things that exist
Underneath a house that I can’t fix.
The experiment lasted only a few minutes
The coffee splashed
Upon the wooden table.
Pried the sloppy orange goop
From her long little fingers.
Angry cry of the scientist
As the lab’s funding dries up.
