Something Somewhat Somehow Funny: a poem
Nov 21, 2022
There’s something funny
Underneath all of this
Mostly mild and
Occasionally brutal agony.
There’s something to ponder
Under the piles of flotsam and jetsam
The mishmash of banana peel and mush.
There’s a humerus bone
A hairline fracture of the funny bone
And arthritic knees giving way
To a third eye.
There’s a guttural guffaw
Buried deep in the tundra
Somewhere east of western Siberia.
I swear I heard someone laughing
It wasn’t long ago
I’ll find it if I keep searching
Under these couch cushions
It’s in here somewhere.
